Founded in 1935, Penguin is one of the world’s best-loved brands. To celebrate this, Penguin wanted to create a book that explains the international group, inspires employees, authors and partners, and encourages pride in the past and excitement about the future. Many thanks to the whole host of people at Penguin for all their help and support on the project. The Book of Penguin is intentionally a book (not a website, blog or podcast). Its subtle, booky style uses gentle humour with simple, brand-based illustrations echoing the ‘dignified, but flippant’ character of the company. While it is a celebration, the calm tone reflects the aim to quietly inspire, not to lecture or boast.
