The Victoria & Albert Museum village fête is a contemporary take on the traditional English fête, providing an extraordinary array of creative, fun, engaging and imaginative events and games, by leading as well as up-and-coming designers. Ico Design devised an interactive game based around the idea of racing battery hens to freedom. Through the clever use of hidden technology, our custom-built robotic chickens were controlled by the frenzied movement of flapping participants. No one worked out how it was done but everyone had fun trying to be the fastest flapper.
